Filament inventory that stays honest
A spool tracker for people who print for money: what is on the shelf, how much is left on each spool, what it cost, and what it is worth after the job.
Why filament stock drifts
Nobody weighs a spool after every print. You subtract in your head, then you print a batch, then someone starts a job on the other printer — and by the end of the week the number on the shelf and the number in your notes have nothing to do with each other. The cost of that is not the filament: it is the job that stops at 80 % because the spool was emptier than you thought.
SpoolFarm subtracts for you. When a print finishes, the grams come off the spool that printed it, and the spool that printed it is recorded in the job's history.
What the spool card holds
Material and colour
Type, sub-type, brand, colour with its real hex, diameter and spool weight. Nozzle and bed temperatures you actually use for it.
Remaining weight
Net weight, used weight, what is left — updated automatically as jobs finish, and correctable by hand when you reweigh.
Price
What this spool cost you, not what the shop charges today. Cost per gram follows from it into every calculation and every order.
QR and NFC labels
Stick a label on the spool, scan it with the phone, the right card opens. No scrolling through a list of forty greys.
Low-stock alerts
A threshold per spool and per material. The warning arrives before the filament runs out mid-print, not after.
Spoolman sync
Already keeping stock in Spoolman? Synchronise instead of typing everything twice.
Questions
How does the app know how much filament a print used?
From the printer. Klipper, OctoPrint, Bambu Lab and the others report the finished job and its filament use; the grams are written off the spool assigned to that printer. You can also enter a job by hand.
What if I swap spools between printers?
Assign the spool to the printer when you load it. The write-off follows the assignment, so a swap mid-week does not corrupt last week's numbers.
Can I import my existing list?
Yes, by CSV. Be careful with re-importing your own export: import always adds rows and does not match by id, so importing the same file twice doubles the shelf. The import wizard warns about it.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. There is no SpoolFarm server and no account. Printers are reached over your own network; Bambu Lab works in LAN mode without a cloud account.
Does packaging count too?
Yes, packaging is its own stock with its own reorder threshold, and it is written off with the order — boxes are the second thing that runs out at the worst moment.
